5 things I couldn't live without
There comes a time (once or twice a year) when you have to move homes. Those of you who are renting know what I am talking about – that magical time where you get to pack everything up into boxes and carry them around. As I am in the process of moving flats and boxing all of my things, I realised there are some things I have I couldn’t really live without.
So here are my top 5 things I will always take with me to any flat:
I’ve had my eye on this for a long time now, so I was really excited when my husband bought it for me as a Christmas present. It’s called “Sunset”. I am in love with the colours and the delicacy it depicts. If you want to see more of Holly’s beautiful work, have a look here.
I know I’ve said this many times before, but I really do adore this little fellow. I find the golden wings to be the perfect accent “colour” / addition to this ceramic figurine and, of course, the figurine itself. I mean a little piggy with wings? Who wouldn’t adore this right away?
If you are interested in the wonderful work of Ende Ceramics, have a look here.
The perfect casual decorations to style any part of your flat. Small, made out of wood and in different sizes, I found that they liven up the place wherever you place them.
I am really fond of this scented candle from Anthropologie. I found it last year in the Christmas collection and been hooked ever since. It’s a known fact that a candle can change the atmosphere of a room at any given time and it’s an inexpensive way to do it too. When you add a scent that you love into the mix, it becomes a big win in my books.
This is a book I discovered in Architecture Uni and in a way, it changed the way I think about interior spaces. The book is basically a transcript of a lecture that architect Peter Zumthor gave on the 1st of June 2003 at the Festival of Literature and Music in Germany. It changed the way I see, think and approach anything that creates atmosphere, be it in Architecture or in Interior Design. If you are looking to learn more about what creates an atmosphere in any type of space, then this book is the best place to start.
Also, I’ve thrown in a little bonus – this air plant from Geo – Fleur. It’s super easy to maintain and like everything else on this list (except for the book), it changes the atmosphere of the room completely.
So there you have it peeps, my top 5 list of things I couldn’t live without no matter where I would be (in a flat or house). What things you couldn’t go another day without having them in your home? I challenge you to think and make up a list of your top 5 things you couldn’t live without. Share it with me below or on our Facebook Page. Or, if you find this easier, just take a picture and hare it on your Instagram using #detailmovementtribe. Cannot wait to hear from you!
Until next time!
I did not receive anything for making this post. I truly support the local artisans and their passion for their work. I only share products that I believe in and that I think you, the readers, will enjoy as well.
