Welcome to Detail Movement!

Hi, I'm Raluca. I am an interior designer & the founder of Detail Movement. Feel free to have a look around and get in touch if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by!

An alternative way to display your art!

An alternative way to display your art!

I am sure that you've seen loads of different ways to display your art, be it on the walls, supported or laid against your furniture etc. Each and every one of us is different, so there is no right or wrong way to do something inside your home. This means that you might be like me and fancy having your art displayed in a different manner, rather than the original way (hung on the wall).

What I want to show you today is an alternative way you can style your art next to your wall, on the floor with (spoilers), no nails needed.

The first and best thing you could do is find or cut out some card boards that have similar (if not the exact) dimensions as the art you wish to display. Why do this at all? Because it will be easier for you to move them around and find the best way to display your actual art. Why carry around the heavy art, when it would be so much easier to just move card boards around?

Once you've sorted out the dimension of the art you wish to have, the fun part starts. Place them against the wall (where you want them to be displayed) and try out different positions.

After you have picked your ideal place and look, all that is left for you is to just replace the card boards with the actual art. What I love about this type of display is that it is perfect if you are renting a flat and you cannot hang anything on the walls without the permission of the landlord. Even more so if the landlord does not let you hang anything because it will "ruin the paint" or other excuses.

This way you can always change it around, have your art in different places in one room, or even move them in another room altogether. This flexibility, my friend, is gold!

So have a go at it, especially if you get bored pretty easily with one thing in one place only (like I do). Try it out and see how it feels. You can send me a snapshot of how it looks like on our Facebook Page or alternatively, tag me on Instagram with #detailmovementtribe. Cannot wait to see what you do!
